Los Angeles Tourist Itinerary Day 1

A single day to see L.A. really is not enough time! However with an early start, a hearty breakfast and the sunlight to help you along, you will see the main attractions and come away with an impression. It depends on what most interests you, of course. Depending on your time and budget, there are many things you could choose from. Go celebrity-spotting, shop 'til you drop, hit the beaches, play Party Poker or hit the night clubs! Or all of the above. Los Angeles never sleeps! Here is a classic itinerary for those tight on time
  • Hollywood Walk of Fame
    1. Hollywood Walk of Fame
Start your day with a stroll along the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame. The true greatness of this world-famous sidewalk begins on Hollywood and LaBrea. You can start there and walk east all the way to Hollywood and Vine. Since 1960, more than 2000 celebrities have been immortalized with a star on this famed sidewalk. To get the most of this experience, I recommend spending a few dollars on a list of the stars to help you plan your walk. While you are meandering along the Boulevard, make sure to take a few photos of yourself in front of Grauman's Chinese theatre on Hollywood and LaBrea. This historic landmark is also the place where you can compare your foot-prints with those of Humphrey Bogart and Bruce Willis. Since you are already here, enjoy the view of the Hollywood sign from the Hollywood and Highland complex that also houses the Kodak theatre, which is home to the Oscars! Before you are done with the Boulevard, do not forget to take an organized tour of the Movie Star's homes...you know you want to!
  • 2. Sunset Boulevard
Grab some lunch at any one of the pizza restaurants on Hollywood Boulevard and head west to the beach along Sunset Blvd. This drive will take you through the Glamorous sunset strip, World-Famous Beverly Hills, Beautiful Malibu and finally one of the most scenic drives on planet earth, the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
  • Santa Monica Pier Images
    3.Santa Monica Pier
Sunset Boulevard ends at the PCH, so make a left and head toward Santa Monica. A short drive will deliver you to the Santa Monica Pier. This is the quintessential representation of the Southern California beach culture. Take a stroll down wooded planks of the boardwalk and ride the giant Ferris wheel. Then walk to the end of the pier and let the saltwater mist across your face so you can feel the beach boys spirit rush through you! It's a magical place and certainly worth the visit.
  • Venice Beach Images
    4. Venice Beach Ocean Font Walk
Venice beach is a short 20 minute walk so make your way south to the ocean-front walk that has something for every taste. From the bohemian street vendors to incredibly skilled break dancers to the Arnold Scwartzenegger wanna-be's at muscle beach. Tattoo shops, funky t-shirt stores, and drum beats galore. All this to the backdrop of gorgeous Venice Beach. Take some time to stop at a street-side cafe for a beer and take-in the scene, it truly is spectacular. And if you feel up to it, rent a bicycle and ride down the 8 mile path winding it's way through Venice all the way up to Malibu
  • Rodeo Drive Images
    5. Rodeo Drive
Having uncovered the wild wonder of Venice Beach, it's time for you to explore the other extreme of L.A. in Rodeo Dr. So get in your car and head east on Santa Monica Blvd. With its neatly manicured streets, exotic cars and thousand-dollar t-shirts, Rodeo Dr. truly is the mecca for anyone with expensive tastes and a wallet to match! Luckily there are plenty of coffee shops and quaint restaurants that can fit any budget. So after you have window-shopped to hears' content, grab a bite to eat at one of the street-side restaurants, knowing that this is where the world's royalty comes to shop!
